Q4. Why use Toko for your fundraising?

Toko is proud to be New Zealand's only platform dedicated to school fundraising.

Our team has a deep connection with schools across the country—as parents, PTFA members, board members, and teachers. We understand firsthand the challenges schools face when raising funds for activities, special projects, furniture, and more. We've been there, we’re still there, and we continue to support our own children, cousins, and friends in their school fundraising efforts.

That’s why we created a platform that’s easy to use, highly effective, and the most affordable option available.

But that's not all,
No Fees for Schools – Schools receive 100% of the funds from purchases, services, and donations.

Expanded Reach – Most schools rely on their immediate community for fundraising. With Toko, they can connect with supporters nationwide or worldwide. For exemple, students can sell their artwork, pottery, or request donations for school camps from family members in a different region or even abroad .

Support from Anywhere – Buyers and donors across New Zealand can easily browse projects and choose which schools or projects to support.

Maximise your reward – PTFAs work 110% to secure high-quality products or services. These are then sold to the community to raise funds. By extending your reach, your are also extending the amount some people are willing to pay for a service or a product.

Q5. Why is Toko different from other fundraising websites?

Toko is the only fundraising platform that lets you sell, auction, run raffles, or request donations—all in one place.

Best of all, it's completely FREE for schools, with no commission fees and no subscription required.

We’re constantly adding new features to help schools reach their fundraising goals.

Online Fundraising: A free, weather-proof, and time-flexible alternative to traditional fundraising, making it easier to raise funds anytime, anywhere.

Q2. Why do we need to switch from traditional fundraising to Toko fundraising?

Traditional fundraising is a great complement to online fundraising with Toko, and we encourage schools to use both for the best results.

While events like sausage sizzles, ice cream sales, Agricultural Days, and runathons can be successful, they often depend on factors like weather, time, and volunteer availability. For example, if an ice cream sale takes place on a rainy day or is staffed for only an hour, the funds raised may be limited.

Online fundraising removes these restrictions—it's not affected by weather, time constraints, or high costs. By combining both approaches, schools can maximize their fundraising potential and reach a wider audience.

Q3. How much does it cost?

Toko is completely free for schools! There are no subscription fees or commissions on the amount raised.

The only cost is the standard card transaction fee, ranging from 1.5% to 2%, which is charged by our payment processing service.

Q4. Why Toko is different from fundraising website or traditional online market place?

Toko is unique and different from fundraising platforms like Givealittle and online marketplaces like Trade Me.

1. **Completely Free** – We don’t charge buyers any winning fees or take commissions from schools.

2. **100% Focused on School Fundraising** – Unlike other platforms that host personal fundraisers or business investments, Toko is dedicated solely to helping schools reach their fundraising goals.

3. **Multiple Fundraising Options** – Schools can raise funds through auctions, Buy Now products, donations, and raffles. And we’re continually adding new ways to engage with communities and supporters nationwide.

Q5. Our school does not have products to sell or offer, what can we do?

You can still create an account and request some donations. Donors might be interested to contribute to your special projects and help your schools.

Your school can also ask parents or community members to donate quality items they don't need anymore. The school can then sell or auctions these products and keep the profit. Think of it as a kind of trademe for schools without listing and winning fees.
